CHARACTER
Name: Legolas
Canon: Tolkien Legendarium
Age: 500+, 30ish apparent
Timeline: After Aragorn's wedding
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: They won't interact. Their separate lineage means Legolas's father and grandfather had a dislike for Celebrimbor's line but more than that, Legolas would have a great dislike and distrust because of Celebrimbor being the ring-maker. His position in the Fellowship meant he saw most of the horror firsthand that the ring caused.
Personality:
Legolas is very grounded in himself and the world around him, he is both very instinctual and intellectual. His greatest strengths are that he is calm, and calms those around him, while being a good mediator and follower. Legolas has a great sense of loyalty and purpose, as well as trustworthiness to a fault. While he can be assertive he has no desire for personal glory or approval and works well in a supportive function rather than as a leader. Legolas is very trustworthy and his peace both internally and externally make him a positive ally to have, as he will never likely be the member of a group or team that causes problems. That's not to say he will not speak his mind when he believes he should, but when a decision is made he will support his leader.
He is not aggressive, but he has a strong sense of combat and unmatched skill with his long bow. Legolas performs well in combat both on a small and battlefield scale. While it would be a far stretch to say he enjoys killing he does not seem bothered by it when it is for an honorable cause, especially if he is next to friends and comrades for a battle, and he does take pride in his skills and accomplishments in combat. Because of his natural superhuman strength, agility and so on he can even be prideful of his skills. Legolas is also seen to be prideful/arrogant when he refers to the mortal races as children, though they are adults, being as they have lived such a short time compared to himself and other elves. As skilled in combat as he is, and as calm and idealistic as he remains, Legolas is not fearless by any means and when presented with a great adversary will not throw caution to the wind unless his leader wills it.
Legolas is at times very charismatic with great personal magnetism and alternately distant, remote and disengaged from what his traveling companions are doing. He is more in-tune with the world and nature than they are and his acute senses allow him to see and feel things that they do not. This does not inhibit his ability to bond with them however and this is especially seen with his affection for the dwarf Gimli. He can be fun, affectionate, strong, and many other qualities that the other companions exhibit individually in greater amount. Part of his ability to become friends with the different races is Legolas's ability to be laid-back and unassuming, which may seem in contrast to his slight arrogance. He thinks himself superior only in those ways which naturally come to him because of his elvish heritage but he respects and appreciates the strengths and qualities of his companions also. This makes him somewhat more approachable than most elves who are not as approachable. He isn't exactly the strong and silent type, but close to it.
His greatest vice might be his neglect of his own needs, for he always does as his leader wishes and does what is necessary for the realm and the good of the people. Legolas rarely expresses his own needs or desires, and only voices his objections when he feels it is vital or honor-bound for him to do so. Overall he is dignified, comfortable with himself, loving, aloof, strong and kind.

Abilities:
Legolas has extraordinary skill with the long bow. He also has skill with daggers/short swords. Being an elf he has superhuman sensory skills. Elves also have a naturalistic magic involving Song, it's not really like casting a spell as with magic in other fandoms or genres. His magic is neither destructive nor substantial.
Legolas speaks Elvish, is incredibly strong, durable, has high stamina, and can do amazing things like walk on top of snow and drink lots of alcohol...
Network/Actionspam Sample:
[While the spacious and more natural setting of the forest may seem to those who know him as more his preferred sort of dwelling, Legolas has been enjoying the culture, foreign as it is, of the city. It is on this subject that he addresses the watch.]
Would the poetry of the island be beautiful, the words of a people touched by great hardship and sorrows? Words and song have a power their own and the person who shapes them gives those words their spirit, and those who listen benefit from it should they open more than their ears to the telling.
The natives, their words have a cadence their own, to the land and history they come from. We are in a unique way to have many people from many realms, here, and so I began to wonder. Are there poets among you, my friends, my fellow spirited-away and other-world companions? If there are I would sit and listen to your words, of your homes and histories.
Prose Log Sample:
Meat caught a very fair price, Legolas thought, unless you were the game meat. Such a price would never be anything but unfair to the rabbits and birds who died at the sharp point of his arrows, arrows which sought only the most painless deaths but deaths all the same. Legolas found the sport very unfulfilling, they were easy pickings for his skill and he had no desire to hurt them. These woods were choked with struggling life and one more predator out of the mist to squeeze harder was not what he wanted to be. And yet the price the small game earned him was enough to live off of.
Legolas did not need much, not like some of the offworlders here. He watched as a few birds hopped back and forth in front of where he was crouched in the underbrush, a few feet away. They had not noticed him here and he was content to watch them. One was gray and of mottled plumage on its head, rather plain. The other had vibrant stripes of metallic green down its head and a bright white breast with black and brown down its back. They were a mated pair, he could tell, out for a supper of grubs.
In the distance Legolas could make out other such creatures. He could hear a down rabbit with her litter, the warren curled up in likely a burrow still yet for the time of day was not prime for their kind to safely venture far. His eyes moved along the canopy where he saw squirrels, larger birds, bugs, caterpillars, a spider some ten feet away on its broken web. Further away he could hear something else, something much larger and restless. It was dusk, and the larger prey would come out soon. Legolas had not yet seen such an animal but he had heard them, had heard many things in these woods and further out into the mist, things that perhaps had no names.
Curiosity drove him stand and move through the woods to where he could hear that subtle movement: heavy breathing, claws, thick fur against rock. No leaf or branch went disturbed as Legolas drifted through the woods soundlessly until it was the mouth of a cave his hearing had brought him to, though even with his keen sight he could not pierce the darkness of it to see what lie within. Legolas stood, watching, and to his shame he had been so focused on the mouth of the cave he had not realized the occupant was not inside it any longer. From his right came the flash of teeth and claws and Legolas barely managed to dodge out of the way.
Instantly he had an arrow knocked and flying, and while it hit the arrow merely pierced the thick fur of the cave lion and made the animal angrier. Its fangs were large enough to snap a man's wrist or tear out its throat, and it was fast. Legolas was faster, and he jumped high and far as the lion did the same, but Legolas had his bow ready with another shot and pierced through the lion's throat as they crossed in the air. The lion dropped to the ground, dying, and Legolas felt shamed for his curiosity that had brought the death of it.
"Rest now. I will bury you here by your cave so that the ground may carry you to live here eternally." Legolas crouched by the dying animal and waited a few seconds for it to finish its struggle for breath, and once it was dead he removed his arrows.
